Every year Santa visits us twice: once in our own home, and again in New Orleans on the actual day. The first holiday, what the Swansons have traditionally called "Fake Christmas," is a big deal as there's really nothing fake about it. They scurry out of the bed, find gifts under the tree, and we all laze around in our pajamas for the day with no memory that it's a full week before the real holiday. This year, in fact, we realized we can longer call it 'fake' in front of the kids, because they really believe.
They're still sleeping now, but I can't wait until they wake up and find what Santa's brought on his special delivery. Celie will be especially relieved to know that Ruldolph's doing alright!
