Not long before Mike and I had Celie, we met a couple in New Orleans who told us they'd given their child his first camera at the age of 3. By that time, he was 7, running around the party snapping pictures of the crowd, cracks in the floor, and whatever else struck his fancy. I imagine the world seen through the eyes of a child must look infinitely more interesting than it does to the rest of us--and so far, Celie's first photos seem to confirm my suspicion.
